The Musicians:

BIOS

Chris Brian is a child of God, a devoted Husband and Father, a lifelong musician, a Master Martial Artist, and a dedicated educator.

I have loved music for as long as I can remember. Some of my fondest memories are of my sister Marcy singing into her hairbrush and me playing air guitar on a tennis racquet. Growing up between West Texas and Southern California I was introduced to a plethora of music genres - everything from Rock and Old School Country, to R&B and Motown.

I fell in love with music at a young age. My first real gig was at a middle school talent school in Pomona California. After playing in several garage bands and a stint with a band out of Oklahome, I moved to Midland Texas and joined an original rock band called Mantissa. We later relocated to the Dallas/Fort Worth area where for several years we played clubs, parties and anywhere that would let us play.

After marrying the love of my life in 1989, and having our daughter Charlene in 1990 we decided to move back to Midland Texas to be closer to our family. We originally focused on opening two thriving Martial Arts Schools, But It wasen't long before music started calling me back.

We formed a successful rock band called Capnjack, and played various clubs and venues throughout West Texas. After playing for a few years we decided to take a break, and with the sad passing of our drummer stopped playing altogether.

In 2008 a new door opened when Pasto G. O. Wade asked me to take over the music ministry for Living Hope Church/ After much prayer and talking with my wife Anne, I took on a the challenge and embarked on a brand-new musical journey playing music with my family for Jesus. Almost immediately God blessed me with a flood of music and lyrics. Songs that used to take month to write now came together in a matter of days, so much so that I already have enough material for our next album.

We named the band Appointed Life after my wife's teaching ministry. Play music with my wife, my daughter, my granddaughter, and my son-in-law for Jesus has been the most rewarding chapter of my life.

Anne Brian is a child of God, a gifted singer, a devoted wife and Mother, and a Minister and teacher with a big heart for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Anne's musical journey began in the church choir at just 12 years old, fostering a lifelong love for singing. As she stepped into the roles of wife and mother, she temporarily moved to the sidelines, passionately supporting her husband, Chris, a guitarist and singer-songwriter in various rock bands. Though she occasionally helped him co-write songs and lyrics, she had never actually sung with any of his projects—and Chris had no idea the incredible voice and talent he was living with at home.

Her hidden talent was famously uncovered in 1996 during an audition for Chris's band, Capnjack. Stepping in to help another singer with a melody, Anne’s undeniable vocal talent stunned the room. She immediately became the band's new female lead singer. For the next few years, she fronted the band and commanded stages across West Texas, becoming well-known for her powerful vocals and effortlessly covering powerhouse artists like Ann Wilson, Pat Benatar, and Stevie Nicks alongside the band's original music.

In 2000, life shifted. Between Chris starting college, the demands of running their martial arts academy, and the tragic passing of their drummer, the band parted ways amicably. For seven years, Anne and Chris stepped away from public performance. During this season of rest, they deeply rededicated their lives to Christ—and with that spiritual renewal came a brand-new calling for their music.

In 2008, Anne returned to music with a purpose for Christ, and together with Chris, formed a Praise and Worship band. This transformed their music into a true family ministry, alongside their gifted daughter, Charlene, and their son-in-law Justin on drums. For years, they led worship at Living Hope Church and various ministries across the West Texas area. Following a season of deep spiritual study, Anne was ordained as a Minister and Bible teacher in 2012 under Reverend G.O. Wade. She soon founded Appointed Life Ministries, which served as the divine inspiration behind the band’s name: Appointed Life.
